The hazard

Issue: On a small number of aerial devices, the boom stow switch wiring could become damaged. If this happens, the wiring could short circuit and melt. Safety Risk: A short circuit and/or wiring that overheats can create a fire risk. Corrective Actions: Altec Industries will notify owners by mail and provide you with instructions and a kit for how to inspect and, if necessary, install a guard to protect the wiring. If the wiring is damaged, it will be replaced.
