The hazard

Issue: On certain vehicles, the transmission ground wire may not have been connected during production. As a result, wiring or nearby parts could overheat. Safety Risk: Wiring or parts that overheat can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Volkswagen will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, repair the transmission ground wire.
