Altec At Series, LS Series: Electrical

Affects Altec At Series, LS Series · 2020–2025 — about 14 vehicles.

The hazard

Issue: On certain aerial devices, voltage spikes in the power distribution module could damage the transfer case control module. As a result, the system could detect the wrong driving mode selection. This could cause poor handling and/or reduced braking, and lead to a loss of control. Safety Risk: A loss of control could create the risk of a crash. Additionally, reduced braking can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Altec recommends not to use the vehicle until the recall repairs are completed if any 4x4 warning messages are turned on. Altec will notify owners by mail and advise you to contact Altec Service to add a diode to the ignition power circuit.
