The hazard

Issue: On a small number of vehicles, the driver's seat belt may not have been installed properly. Over time, the seat belt could become loose and detach. Safety Risk: A seat belt that detaches in a crash could increase the risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, reinstall the safety cap on the driver's seat belt.
