Affects BMW X1, X2, X7, X5, X6 · 2023–2025 — about 30 vehicles.

The hazard

Issue: On certain vehicles, a motor in the integrated brake control module could fail and cause reduced power brake assist and a loss of rear hydraulic brakes. As a result, there may be reduced braking, and the antilock braking system (ABS) and dynamic stability control (DSC) may not work. Safety Risk: Reduced braking can cause extended stopping distances and could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, antilock brake and stability control systems that don't work could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the integrated brake system.
