Freightliner Business Class M2: Powertrain
Affects Freightliner Business Class M2 · 2024 — about 49 vehicles.
The hazard
Issue: Certain trucks may have been built with a transmission shifter that indicates a park ("P") position but a transmission that doesn't contain a park pawl. As a result, the truck could move if the park ("P") position is selected, and the parking brake isn't applied. Safety Risk: A parked vehicle that rolls away could create the risk of an injury or a crash. Corrective Actions: Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to inspect and, if necessary, replace the transmission shifter. To reduce the safety risk, DTNA recommends that you should always use the parking brake when you park.
