Hino L7: Brakes

Affects Hino L7 · 2023 — about 19 vehicles.

The hazard

Issue: On certain trucks, the wrong brake rotors may have been installed on the front wheel hubs. As a result, the brake caliper piston may overextend and create a brake fluid leak when the front brake pads wear to the minimum thickness. This could cause reduced braking. Note: This recall only affects trucks with certain Meritor axle assemblies. Safety Risk: Reduced braking can cause extended stopping distances and create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Hino will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to inspect the front brake rotors. If an incorrect brake rotor is found, it will be replaced along with the brake pads.
