DRV Mobile Suite: Lights and Instruments
Affects DRV Mobile Suite · 2021–2022 — about 9 vehicles.
The hazard
Issue: On a small number of fifth wheel RV trailers, the tail lamps may be mounted too high. As a result, the tail lamps, brake lights and turn signals may be difficult to see. Canadian regulations have a maximum mounting height for tail lamps. Safety Risk: Tail lamps that are difficult to see could make the trailer less visible and cause a following driver not to recognize that the vehicle is braking or turning. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: DRV will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your trailer to a dealership to inspect, and if necessary, install two 4" lights with a reflective flange in the bottom area of the rear cap.
