The hazard
This recall was replaced by Transport Canada Recall No. 2024-091. Issue: Operating your snowmobile with a low fuel level after long-term storage could create increased risk of an electrostatic discharge (spark) inside the fuel tank. If this happens, vapours may be ignited inside the fuel tank, and the tank could rupture. Safety Risk: A spark inside the fuel tank could cause an explosion and a fire. Corrective Actions: Polaris advises you should stop using your snowmobile immediately, and not use it until the recall repairs have been completed. If you need to start your snowmobile, you must make sure the fuel tank is full and, if it is not, then you need to add fresh gasoline to fill the tank. Polaris will notify owners by mail. The corrective actions are under development.
