The hazard
Issue: On certain side-by-side UTVs, a lack of maintenance could lead to an engine misfire while driving. If this happens, you may notice changes in engine performance, including: an engine stutter, a significant increase in vibration and a lack of engine power. If you continue to drive the vehicle with these symptoms, the engine and exhaust system could overheat. This could result in permanent damage to the engine and the vehicle. Safety Risk: This service campaign helps to prevent the risk of damage that can be caused by an engine misfire. Note: This recall is not being conducted under the requirements of the Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Corrective Actions: Can-Am will notify owners by mail and advise you to bring your UTV to a dealer to update the engine software. This update will reduce the chance of overheating if an engine misfire occurs. Can-Am recommends following the maintenance procedures that are described in the Owner's Manual to ensure proper engine performance.
