Affects Freightliner Cascadia, Business Class M2, 114SD · 2021 — about 215 vehicles.

The hazard

Issue: On certain trucks, the spindle nut snap ring on the left side of the steer axle may not be installed correctly or may be missing. As a result, the tire and wheel assembly could separate from the truck. Safety Risk: A wheel separation could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. A wheel that separates could also hit another person or vehicle. Corrective Actions: Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility for an inspection. The snap ring will be reinstalled or replaced, as necessary.
