Autocar Xpert: Seats and Restraints

Affects Autocar Xpert · 2012–2014 — about 8 vehicles.

The hazard

On certain vehicles, fasteners in the cab may have been insufficiently tightened at time of assembly and could loosen over time, affecting compliance to requirements of several Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (CMVSS), including CMVSS 209 - Seat Belt Assemblies due to seatbelt mounting fasteners, CMVSS 207 - Anchorage of Seats due to seat fasteners and CMVSS 121 - Air Brake Systems due to valve mounting fasteners. Also various other fasteners for the accelerator pedal, steering column, exterior grab handles, and steps to the cab structure may loosen. These issues could affect braking system function, occupant protection in a crash, and create various other risks to safety, increasing the risk of injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect and replace the affected fasteners.
