The hazard
Certain tires do not comply with the requirements of CMVSS 119. During manufacturing, incorrect rubber compound was used in the belt component. This rubber does not have the necessary chemical properties to facilitate appropriate steelcord/rubber bonding. In service, the tires may develop excessive vibration, bulging in the tread area and uneven tread wear. Continued use could result in tire failure which could cause a vehicle crash with injuries or death. Correction: Dealers will replace affected tires. Note: Most of the subject tires were supplied for use as original equipment on certain 2005 and 2006 Ford F150, and 2006 F250 & F350 trucks. Some tires were also sold as replacement tires.
