The hazard

Certain vehicles built with Rockwell SLHD model rear axles may experience a fracture and ultimate separation of the rear axle outer ends in the area of the spindle attachment to the axle housing. Such a separation could cause the spindle and the components attached to it including the wheels, tires, brake drums and bearings to disengage from the axle and roll free causing a risk to traffic safety and a potential for vehicle crash.
