Great Dane Everest: Service brakes

Affects Great Dane Everest · 2019 — about 197 vehicles.

The hazard

A detached anchor pin would cause the automatic brake adjusters to not properly adjust the brakes to compensate for brake pad wear. If not corrected, this could lead to reduced braking ability or loss of brakes, increasing the risk of a crash. Loose anchor pins could cause the automatic brake adjuster to jam, keeping it from returning to its rest position which may cause the brakes to drag, increasing the risk of a fire.

What to do

Great Dane will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the anchor pin mounting bolts for the proper tightness, replacing any pins that are missing, free of charge. The recall began November 16, 2018. Owners may contact Great Dane customer service at 1-877-369-3493.
