The hazard

Even though the transmission has been shifted out of reverse into neutral, the vehicle may unexpectedly move backwards, increasing the risk of a crash.

What to do

Volvo will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and repair the transmissions, if necessary, free of charge. The recall began on December 21, 2015.
