Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the electronic stability control (ESC) system and power brake assist not to work. Safety Risk: A loss of power brake assist could cause a sudden increase in brake pedal force and lead to an increase in stopping distance. This could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, an electronic stability control system that doesn't work could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify owners in writing and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the brake system control module software.
