Vicinity VI33, VI30: Fuel System

Affects Vicinity VI33, VI30 · 2017–2022 — about 74 vehicles.

The hazard

Issue: On certain transit buses, the compressed natural gas (CNG) tanks could rub against the mounting structure and/or safety cables. As a result, the tanks could become damaged and rupture. Safety Risk: A CNG tank rupture can create a risk of an explosion or fire. Corrective Actions: Vicinity Motor Corporation will notify owners in writing and arrange for a service team to inspect and, if necessary, repair or replace the CNG tanks. The service team will also inspect and adjust the CNG tanks mounting structure. If can't be adjusted, Vicinity Motor Corporation advises you to stop using the bus until replacement parts are available. The company will send you a second notice to arrange for a service team to replace the mounting structure when parts are available.
