Mercedes-Benz G Class: Brakes

Affects Mercedes-Benz G Class · 2019–2021 — about 3K vehicles.

The hazard

Issue: On certain vehicles, the front axle wiring harness could be damaged by contact with the auxiliary oil cooler. If this happens, the vehicle electronic stability program (ESP) and antilock brake system (ABS) may not work correctly. Safety Risk: Antilock brake (ABS) and vehicle stability control (ESP) systems that don't work correctly could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect, and if necessary, replace the front axle wiring harness. The dealer will also install a protective sleeve.
