The hazard

Issue: On certain vehicles, the cable duct under the starter-generator may not be properly attached. As a result, the wiring harness could contact the transmission carrier. If this happens, the wiring could short circuit. Safety Risk: A short circuit can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to secure the cable duct under the starter-generator.
