The hazard

Issue: On certain vehicles, the nut that attaches the battery cable to the alternator may be loose. This can result in electrical arcing (sparks). Safety Risk: Electrical arcing could increase the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Kia will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect, and if necessary, tighten the alternator battery (B+) terminal nut.
