Ford F-250 Super Duty, F-350 Super Duty: Powertrain

Affects Ford F-250 Super Duty, F-350 Super Duty · 2019 — about 4K vehicles.

The hazard

Issue: On certain Super Duty trucks equipped with an electronic locking rear differential, the passenger-side rear axle shaft could break. If this happens, there would be a loss of power to the rear wheels. Additionally, if the truck is parked and the parking brake is not applied, this could allow the truck to roll away. Safety Risk: A loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. A parked truck that rolls away could also increase the risk of an injury or a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a Ford or Lincoln dealer to inspect the passenger-side rear axle shaft. It will be replaced as necessary.
