Volvo XC90: Engine
Affects Volvo XC90 · 2016 — about 3K vehicles.
The hazard
Issue: On certain vehicles, the coolant bleeder hose could crack over time. This could allow coolant to leak on to the exhaust system. This could also cause a build-up of coolant in the insulation for the catalytic converter. Note: This condition could cause a low coolant level warning or a high temperature warning to display on the dash. Safety Risk: Coolant that contacts a hot exhaust system or that builds up over time in insulation could create a fire risk for a vehicle that is stopped or parked. Corrective Actions: Volvo will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the coolant bleeder hose with an improved one.
