The hazard
On certain vehicles, the stop lamps may fail to activate due to a defective weld and incomplete circuit within the stop lamp switch. If the stop lamp switch fails during the application of the service brakes, the brake lights on the vehicle and trailer will not illuminate, thereby increasing the possibility of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect and replace any 08-01760 stop lamp switches with a suspect date code (1056, 1026, 0821, 1386 and 1456).
