Jaguar XF: Steering
Affects Jaguar XF · 2014–2015 — about 100 vehicles.
The hazard
On certain vehicles equipped with the 2.0L GTDI engine, a bolt retaining a Front End Auxiliary Drive ( FEAD ) idler pulley may fail. This could cause the hydraulic power assisted steering system to stop functioning which would unexpectedly increase the steering effort force necessary to steer the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the FEAD pulley assembly with an updated version.
