Forest River Legacy: Seats and Restraints

Affects Forest River Legacy · 2014–2016 — about 13 vehicles.

The hazard

Certain motorhomes may not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (CMVSS) 210 - Seat Belt Anchorages and (CMVSS) 209 - Seat Belt Assemblies. The fitment of the front driver and passenger shoulder belts are located too low on occupants' torsos. In the event of a crash, this condition may lead to potential injuries if the emergency locking mechanisms of the seat belt assembly are activated, which could increase the risk of occupant injury. Correction: Dealers will install a new seatbelt system and reposition the wall anchor locations for the driver and passenger sides of the vehicle. Dealers will also provide and replace the subject seatbelt(s) that fail to conform to the requirements of the CMVSS 209 standard.
