Mci J4500: Other

Affects Mci J4500 · 2008–2009 — about 33 vehicles.

The hazard

On certain vehicles, Automatic Traction Control (ATC) valves may have been incorrectly installed during vehicle assembly. As a result, the valve may be distorted causing it to stick in the "open" position. This could cause full service brake pressure to be applied to either the front axle brakes (if the distorted ATC valve at issue is the front valve) or the drive and tag axle brakes (if the distorted ATC valve is the rear valve). This could increase stopping distances, possibly causing a vehicle crash resulting in property damage, personal injuries or death. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the ATC valves.
