Mini John Cooper Works Clubman, John Cooper Works: Brakes

Affects Mini John Cooper Works Clubman, John Cooper Works · 2009 — about 74 vehicles.

The hazard

Certain vehicles were fitted with brake discs for 16 inch wheels rather than 17 inch wheels. The smaller diameter discs could be exposed to higher thermal loads during braking. If this occurred during conditions of intense brake usage, then braking performance would be reduced. Even though sufficient braking capability would be maintained to slow and stop the vehicle, the risk of a crash still exists. Correction: Dealers will inspect brake discs & brake pads and replace them if necessary.
