The hazard
On certain vehicles, a "U" series Weatherhead crimp type hose was substituted in place of a "P" series type fitting during the manufacturing process. This combination of a non approved fitting with an approved hose is a noncompliance to Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS). The noncompliance air brake hose assembly was only used on rear axle brake chambers in a rear axle position when an axle suspension was installed. If a hose failure occurred it may cause a sudden application of the brakes and could cause a loss of control. Correction: Dealer will replace hoses.
