The hazard

On certain medium duty chassis cab vehicles, incorrect coating was applied to the parking brake assembly anchor bolt during fabrication. This could reduce the fatigue life of the bolt and lead to premature failure. If the anchor bolt were to fail, the park brake may not function and there may be no indication to the driver of the malfunction when the park brake is set. This may cause the vehicle to roll away without warning, potentially resulting in a crash. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if required, replace defective bolts.
