Peterbilt 387: Fuel System
Affects Peterbilt 387 · 1999 — about 16 vehicles.
The hazard
On certain vehicles, the steer axle mudflaps and/or mudflap stiffeners may be too long and could rub a hole in the forward surface of the undercab fuel tank resulting in a fuel leak. Fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire. Correction: Affected vehicles will receive replacement mudflap assemblies smaller than the original assemblies and the fuel tank will be checked for abrasion and replaced if damaged.
