Kenworth T300, T800 +1 more: Steering
Affects Kenworth T300, T800, T600 · 1999 — about 673 vehicles.
The hazard
On certain vehicles, the drivelines may exceed the 35 degrees in the U-joint angle. This creates the potential of the U-joint contacting the aluminum steering driveline. This contact may result in a notch in the steering driveline, which would result in a stress riser in the shaft. This condition could result in premature failure of the steering driveline and loss of vehicle control. Correction: Aluminum steering driveline will be replaced with a steel version.
