The hazard

On certain Mustang GT vehicles equipped with 4.6 litre, 2-valve engines, the transmission control wire harness may chafe against the EGR tube and sleeve possibly damaging the harness convolute and wires. This damage could cause powertrain and emission control concerns such as illumination of the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL), engine not starting and the transmission failing to upshift. Correction: Transmission harness will be inspected for damage and repaired or replaced and rerouted as necessary.
