The hazard
On certain vehicles, the flex-loc nuts that fasten the outer steering tie rod ends to the steering arms may have been over-torqued. Excessive torque on the nut may cause tie rod end damage, which may result in rod end failure and loss of steering control. Correction: Dealers will replace both tie rod ends and flex-loc nuts and properly torque the nuts.
