Chevrolet Caprice: Electrical
Affects Chevrolet Caprice · 1991–1992 — about 2K vehicles.
The hazard
On certain vehicles, an electrical "ground out" condition between the 12 volt junction block and the metal inner fender skirt may cause a melted junction block, smoke and burned underhood wiring. This could result in a disabled vehicle or a vehicle fire. This condition can occur while the vehicle is in operation, or with the vehicle parked and the ignition in the "OFF" position. Correction: Junction blocks will be inspected for corrosion and a shielding insulator will be installed under the junction block where required.
