Western Star Conventional: Fuel System
Affects Western Star Conventional · 1983–1985 — about 33 vehicles.
The hazard
On certain trucks, when a sentinal shutdown unit is activated due to the failure of a monitered system and blocks the engine fuel supply, the fuel pump continues to pump fuel and build pressure. This pressure may cause the fuel filter to fail, spraying the engine compartment and creating a potential fire hazard.
