The hazard
THE INNER ACCELERATOR CABLE THAT RUNS BETWEEN THE LINK CASE OF THE CRUISE CONTROL UNIT AND THE CARBURETOR ON HITACHI CARBURETED UNITS OR BETWEEN THE LINK CASE OF THE CRUISE CONTROL UNIT AND THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL ON TURBO-CHARGED UNITS MAY BECOME FRAYED. THIS COULD RESULT IN THE THROTTLE STICKING OPEN AND CAUSE LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL. VEHICLES AFFECTED: HITACHI CARBURETED AND TURBO-CHARGED SUBARU VEHICLES WITH OEM CRUISE CONTROL.
