TWO SET SCREWS THAT ARE PART OF THE UPPER STEERING SHAFT BEARING ASSEMBLY LOCATED AT THE CAB DASH SHEET MAY NOT HAVE BEEN ADEQUATELY TIGHTENED AND MAY ALLOW UPPER STEERING SHAFT MOVEMENT. THIS CONDITION CAN RESULT IN INADEQUATE ENGAGEMENT IN THE SPLINES OF THE LOWER STEERING SHAFT. DURING FRONT AXLE ARTICULATION, THE LOWER STEERING SHAFT CAN DISENGAGE RESULTING IN A LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING.
