The hazard

TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH RA30 (15,000 LB.) RO RA39 (17,000 LB.) REAR AXLES. THE BRAKE FLANGE TO REAR HOUSING WELD COULD FAIL ALLOWING THE BRAKE FLANGE TO BREAK LOOSE FROM THE HOUSING. THIS WOULD ALLOW THE BRAKE GROUP TO TURN WITH THE BRAKE DRUM ON BRAKE APPLICATION. THIS CONDITION WOULD CAUSE THE BRAKE LINES TO BE SEVERED RESULTING IN A LOSS OF BRAKES.
